I am writing to provide an update regarding the electrical repair work at KMS.
Although the replacement of the school's main breaker and trip unit could not be completed today because of PSE&G requirements for the planned utility shutdown, the District has installed a high-capacity generator that fully supports the building's electrical needs. KMS will be open for a full, regular day of school tomorrow, Monday, September 28th.
The replacement of the main breaker and trip unit is now scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 28th. For this work to proceed safely, the building must be fully vacant by 3:00 p.m. As a result, no after-school activities or sports will be held at KMS tomorrow.
The Athletic Department will send a separate update regarding middle school games and practices tomorrow.
We appreciate the continued patience, flexibility, and cooperation of our KMS families as we work with PSE&G and our electrical contractors to complete this unexpected but important repair safely and as quickly as possible.
